Situation
The City of Germantown is a Memphis suburb with a population just under 40,000. During the COVID-19 pandemic, they saw the need to take a strong stand on social distancing, mask wearing, and hand washing. They needed a unified message: This is how we’re going to slow the spread. They wanted to emphasize the importance of these behaviors as ways to care for and protect one another. The city also wanted to avoid negativity and stick with a fun, lighthearted tone of encouragement.

The response was absolutely incredible. We had a line beginning at 8:30. We were out of signs at around 9:30, and we ran out of masks around 10:30. Jessica C. Marketing and Communications Manager
When I saw Germantown’s incredibly brilliant social distancing signage about staying 3 weenie dogs apart, I couldn’t stop laughing. This campaign is truly wonderful. It adds a little humor and levity (and terrific branding) to a very serious situation. I was wondering if I could have a copy of the ‘3 weenie dogs apart’ sign artwork so I could print and frame it.
